What a Bad Little Girl I am....Confessions of a Shopaholic

I'm no movie critic but Confessions of a Shopaholic was a movie every fashionable (and possibly financially embarrassed) lady can relate to. Isla Fisher did a fab job and basically carried the entire movie on her Choo's. Right now we all should be recession proofing our wallets and even the movie points out the "debts" we will go through to to look good, this movie actually made me want to spend more. Now I am beginning to think I need a 12-step program for my shopaholicism......The movie was a bit predictable and Patricia Fields showcased her eclectic styling but I think every girl should see it (once is enough, especially if your life is anything like Rebecca's (Isla Fisher) remember it's a recession.

A girlfriend of mine recently attended the movie opening and after party at Intermix in downtown Chicago. The after party was filled with great giveaways from Intermix, Marc Jacobs, and flirty cocktails...the cocktails not only encourage mingling but shopping, the girl not only left the party with a fab gift bag but a very expensive dress that she did not need, but it "spoke to her" so she bought it! I guess now I have a friend to take with me to my meetings....If you decide to see the movie please let me know what you think about it and stay posted for the pics from the after party!

  1. J.Crew, Arden B., Club Monaco, GAP, Marshall Fields( R.I.P. because Macy's sucks), United Colors of Benetton, are just a few of the many Michigan Ave. stores I've worked @ to maintain my habit. FASHION gets me high..... I love colors, textures and the great feeling I get when I've found "the item". The only time shopaholic behavior can be a problem is when you begin to go delinquent in your financial obligations(ex. mortgage payments, car note, credit debt, student loans, etc.)It's hard sometimes to remain responsible as a shopaholic when you see those fierce Giuseppe pumps @ Barneys but we can do it!! Besides, if it's meant for you to have, it'll still be there still after you drop your car note payment in the mail.. PEACE!
