Seen and Heard Washington, DC

This past Thursday a “cocktail” party was held at the St. Regis in NW Washington, DC for the upcoming CW reality show Blonde Charity Mafia. After observing the crowd and set up it looks like Blonde Charity Mafia is The Hills meets The City hybrid with a little Gossip Girl thrown in for good measure for Washington, DC’s Hill charity circuit and socialites.

The players will include…..Katherine Kennedy, 23 originally from Los Altos, CA who moved to DC three years ago. Krista Johnson, 26 who grew up in Middleburg, VA who after college started a clothing boutique on Wisconsin Ave. called “We Won You Two” along with three other girls and Sophie Pyle, 21 who grew up in Arlington, VA and now resides in Georgetown and is a student at UNC. The girls met through social events around the city (Georgetown jet set) and after attending and hosting so many events friends dubbed them the Blonde Charity Mafia.

It wasn’t really a “cocktail” party to kick off the taping of the new show but it was a filming opportunity. We all know that a lot of reality TV is staged but to have a firsthand look is another thing. All guests signed a release before entering and once inside there was a free flowing bar and the band Juno Chop (I have no clue who they are) playing at designated intervals obviously for the show’s sake. Producers were all around encouraging the mafia and friends to interact with guests and setting up all kinds of shots and scenes. Some scenes were staged with the people that the mafia girls didn’t even know i.e. me (see next entry).
Keep your eyes open for the show it should be coming to television soon and in the mean time the BCM are hosting parties all over the city especially in the Georgetown area (just Google it).

Stay posted for party pics....
